ABOUT CHRIST TOGETHER GREATER AUSTIN

What We Believe

We believe the Gospel is the only true answer to the worldview question everyone must ask: Why is the world so broken? We believe the church has been commanded by Jesus to go share the Gospel, speaking the truth in love, together. We believe among the most potent ways equipping happens is through the lifecycle of discipleship. As believers grow in maturity, our various efforts at forming Christ followers must include an emphasis on personally sharing our faith using the gifts and personality God gave each one of us.

We believe that Jesus desired a unified church (John 17) so that those who do not yet know Jesus would have a powerful representation of love and truth. Unity is very difficult in our highly divisive world. When people see it, they take notice. We want a hurting world to see Jesus through churches united around the Gospel!

How We Got Started

In 2008, ten pastors began meeting as the Pastors Strategic Council. In 2013 they reorganized themselves into Christ Together Greater Austin as a 501c3 with the following purpose and mission.

We are a partnership of pastors and churches seeking to demonstrate and communicate the love of God to the people of Greater Austin by ensuring that every man, woman, and child has repeated opportunities to see, hear, and respond to the Gospel.

CTGA therefore seeks to convene, catalyze, connect, and celebrate city wide efforts that pursue Gospel saturation.

What is the Gospel?

Every person, though created in God's image by God, is not able to live up to His righteous standards. Humanity's sin must be justly addressed. The price for our sin, should we pay it ourselves, is death.

Therefore, because God so loved us, He sent His perfect only son Jesus to die on a cross in our place. He then rose from the dead on the third day, conquering sin and death and validating His word. Now, every man, woman, and child who trusts — puts their faith — in Jesus' life, death, and resurrection will have eternal, abundant life!

Christ Together National

Christ Together - A National Movement

Austin pastors formed one of the earliest city-wide groups in 2008 originally known as the Pastor’s Strategic Council. City-wide movement thinking also began emerging in other states such that in July of 2012, those leaders gathered to process how God would guide them to reach the entire nation. They concluded that Christ Together National could be the vehicle to spread a movement of Gospel saturation to every man, woman, and child in America. The Austin pastors followed up by filing in 2013 formally as Christ Together Greater Austin, a 501c3.

Today, CTGA supports the national movement financially and with shared insights that might advance other cities unique efforts at unified Gospel saturation.
